1. Privacy Policy
1.1 Scope
This policy applies to your use of the CookWhat application ("the App"). We respect your privacy and are committed to protecting it through our compliance with this policy.
1.2 Information We Collect & Storage
- Recipe Data: The App connects to a backend database (Supabase) to fetch recipe content, ingredients, steps, and nutritional information.
- User Data: Your personal data, including "My Fridge" inventory, Shopping Lists, and "Favorites" status, is stored locally on your device using a local database (SQLite/Drift). We do not automatically upload your personal inventory or shopping habits to our servers.
- Images: Recipe images are loaded from third-party sources (e.g., Unsplash or Supabase Storage). Your device may cache these images locally to improve loading performance.
1.3 Third-Party Services
We use the following third-party services to ensure the functionality of the App:
- Supabase: Used for hosting the recipe database and authentication services (if applicable).
- Unsplash (or other image providers): Source of recipe cover images.
1.4 How Your Data Is Used
- To display recipes and ingredients to you.
- To provide the "Fridge Search" feature, filtering recipes based on your local inventory.
- To generate and manage your shopping lists locally.
- We do not sell, trade, or otherwise transfer your personally identifiable information to outside parties for marketing or advertising purposes.
1.5 Data Security
While we use secure connections (HTTPS) to communicate with our backend servers, your personal lists (Shopping/Fridge) are stored locally on your device. We are not responsible for any data loss resulting from app uninstallation, device loss, damage, or operating system resets.
